Basketball ****Best Team and Finals Predictions****

I do not know a whole lot about Basketball but by this thread I hope to learn more. Who are the Hottest and best Teams in the NBA RIGHT NOW? Who do you think will make it all the way to the NBA Finals from the East and West? Please explain why so I can learn from your informative entries. Thank You. I am a Maverick Fan obviously because I am from Dallas but I have not been keeping up with them nearly as much because I am so far away from home.

Hottest team right now = Lakers.

The Spurs started STONE COLD because they had Manu and Tony Parker injured. At one stage they were out of playoff calculations but they have started to keep pace with the Lakers

West looks like a dogfight between Lakers and Spurs.

East - Celtics (defending champs) started SUPER hot. There was even talk that they could break the Bulls' season record but they have been awful lately. The Cavs played some great ball and assumed the #1 spot in East.
Suddenly Orlando went 9-1 for their last 10 games to blindside everyone on to their way to top East standings
Noone saw that coming. Orlando??? wow

Sorry but your Mavs are battling HARD just to make the playoffs

Isn't Manu Ginoboli only one person????? I hope my Mavericks make it. Orlando has been good. Dwight Howard actually been producing? Nice!!

In the West I believe the Lakers are the favorites but I dont think it will be as easy of a road as everyone thinks it will be. There are many teams that will challenge them. Such teams as the Spurs, Nuggets, Jazz, Hornets, Rockets and even the Blazers. 2nd through 8th place is only seperated by 4 games. The one team I do not believe will challenge anyone in the playoffs is the Phoenix Suns. These team is too inconsistent and they don't even win the easy games at home.

In the East I believe that the Cavs are the top team. Many can argue that the Magic or Celtics are better than Cleveland but the Cavs will always have the LeBron factor that has to come in. He can take over any game at any time. I am just so excited for the playoffs. The Eastern Conference Finals (and even the Semi's for that matter) will be a 7 game dogfight series. I think the deciding factor will be which team has the home court advantage. Right now Cleveland is my pick.

Cleveland vs LA in the NBA Finals...anything can happen with that series. A healthy Cavs team has the bigs to guard the Lakers bigs. I then think it comes down to Kobe vs LeBron. What a dream matchup. Beats the Lakers/Celtics matchup from a year ago by a longshot in my book.
