Hockey are there TOO many Cards on the MARKET?

- if you look up Crosby at Upperdeck he now has 700 Different Cards! Ovechkin is close behind with 630+ ... these 2 players have only been in the NHL for 3 seasons!!!

Isnt this a Little INSANE!

this equals out to 3500 different cards for crosby if he had a 15 year career!
that is an Insane amount fo cards for ONE player!
Ovechkin with 3150 cards over 15 years!

anyone think its going a little craZZZy?

Completly agree that they are producing way to many cards of these guys. I just got back into collecting and am starting to put together PC of a few players, mainly DiPietro. Crosby has more UD cards out in 3 years than DiPietro has all together since 00/01. The other thing that has my mind boggled is how expensive some of Crosby's cards have been going for. Most more than Howe, Gretzky, Lemuiex and these guys are retired and were very good players with long careers. I think it's more hype and speculation on the part of collectors more than anything and until that hype dies down, which it may never do, I think you will continue to see LOTS of Crosby and Ovechkin.
