A Philadelphia man accused of shooting San Diego Chargers rookie Curtis Brinkley has turned himself in to authorities.
Investigators in Montgomery County say 23-year-old Anthony Peterson turned himself in on Saturday. He is charged with attempted ******, aggravated assault and other charges.
Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Ferman says the July 10 shooting was a case of mistaken identity. Ferman says Peterson was romantically involved with Brinkley's sister and thought he was shooting at a rival. Brinkley was treated for gunshot wounds at a hospital and released.
A preliminary hearing is set for Aug. 19.
Brinkley signed with the Chargers as a rookie free agent. He rushed for 1,164 yards last year at Syracuse.
