A-Rod playoff watch

Brad

Bench Warmer
Game 1: 0-2, 2 BB, 1 LOB
Game 2: 0-4, 3ks, 3 LOB

Total so far: 0-6, 3ks, 2 BBs, 4LOB

A-rod is not looking good again this postseason

The whole team isn't exactly doing great. Everyone needs to get off his back.

I agree that too many people are all over this guy. He is a great player but not great in the postseason where it counts. He batted .452 in the 9th inning this year and won a bunch of games. He is 0 for his last 28 at bats on the road in the playoffs. That is piss poor. Had a chance last night in the 9th with the winning run on second and struck out. Not good.

Game 3: 2-4, 1 R, 1 K
Game 4: 2-5, 1 R, 1 RBI, 2K, 2LOB

Total: 4-15, .267, 2 R, 1 RBI, 6K, 6 LOB

Definitley not great, but was playing better the last 2 games, but not enought to propel his team

Now he can opt out of his deal, the Dodgers can offer him 8/250 and he'll be a Dodger.

It's almost too perfect. :lollol:

I don't care what he does in the postseason. The guy mashes in the regular season and is about to win his third AL MVP.

Hell, Bonds used to suck in the postseason before 2002. It only takes one good playoff run to wipe away all the struggles.

Clutch is all I care about. There's a reason I would take Derek Jeter over ARod every day of the week. Go ahead and take ARod...you won't win a thing with him.

Yea, it's A-Rod's fault the Yankees have no pitching (minus Pettitte and Wang [to a lesser extent]). The Yankees and their signings of Carl Pavano, Kei Igawa (this guy is worse than Kaz Ishii), Jaret Wright and blowing $28M on a 45-year-old Roger Clemens... that's a recipe for distaster right there.

I guarantee if the Dodgers sign Alex Rodriguez, they will win at least two championships during the life of his contract. The Dodgers have the starting pitching (Billingsley, Lowe, Penny, Scmidt [if healthy]) to take on any team in the postseason. A-Rod has never had the pitching his team needed when A-Rod was the focal point of the offense.

And Derek Jeter had a worse series vs. Cleveland than A-Rod did, btw. But we all know Jeter is impervious to criticism, especially in the playoffs (and rightfully so).

I didn't say Arod was the reason the yankees lost. All I'm saying is that you won't win with him.

Thank you, Nostradamus.

Because .314/.422/.645, 54 HR, 156 RBI wouldn't have done anything the Dodger lineup (or any other lineup lacking a big-time stick). Hell, 3B has only been a black hole since the days of Ron Cey (sans Beltre's 2004 steroid-aided season, allegedly).

A-Rod + Los Angeles = 2 Titles, minimum. The pitching would be too good (SP and RP) and the lineup would be solidified with Rodriguez. Hell, the Dodgers should have signed him the first time he was a free agent in 2001.

You can't tell me this lineup wouldn't win some games in the NL:

Furcal SS
Pierre CF (albatross)
Kemp RF
Rodriguez 3B
Loney 1B
Martin C
Kent 2B
Ethier LF

This is normally my favorite kind of discussion, but I just wanted to stop and chuckle at the two geniuses that made Juan Pierre RICH (Sabes and Ned Colletti in a blind bid war).

Now carry on... ;)

BTW, how long is Kent going to be there? Wasn't it some sort of option-year extension? Might be worth the time to shuffle the infield and to rid the organization of that jerk. But that's just my 2 cents. :salut:

Just another way the Giants screwed the Dodgers. Pierre might be the worst free agent signing in Dodger history (yes, even worse than Darren Dreifort). His contract makes him almost untradeable and prevents the Dodgers from upgrading in CF (Andruw Jones, Torii Hunter, Aaron Rowand all come to mind...).

Kent had an option for 2008 ($9M), but it automatically vested when he reached 550 plate appearances. I'm tired of him. He can still swing it, but he's a jackoff, can't play defense for chit and is hardly a leader. He isn't making a ton of money, so I think it's likely he gets moved this off-season. Probably to an AL team in need of a 2B/1B/DH-type guy.

Kent's offense usually does mask his shortcomings in the field and socially (lol). If the Dodgers were to get A-Rod, that'd be certain trouble for the rest of the West. I recall him hitting well against the Giants in the past. But I'm not sure how applicable the past #'s would be since the Giants roster has had a lot of turnover in the last couple years (in a detrimental way). It'll make the games that much tougher to win in the 3-2 fashion that Sabean envisions. *kicks self*
