Baseball A litte Irked and Frustrated......

Bench Warmer
yesterday, I went to a card show down in Tempe, Arizona. As always I was looking for Luis Gonzalez, '08 A&G Relics, and any other Diamondbacks that catch my eye. It wasn't a bad turn out and there were some very high end cards that I wish I had the cash for.

I was able to pick up a Gonzo, Bonds, Griffey Jr Triple Jersey card and about 7 more Relics of '08 A&G to help complete the set, but there was this ONE vendor there that was, well lets say he is being a pain. I had about 10 cards that were Mantle HR History cards and 4 other cards that were no where near the total of $50 price range that he was asking for them. To me, and ya'll might have another opinion, but to sell common mantles and luis' well above book value is ridiculous. To make matters worse, I seen him take cards out of a buyers hand because the guy took a #1/10 Frank Thomas card out of his $30 stack and ask for the rest at $25.

Does this sound like a reasonable seller or am I just viewing this situation at a different perspective?

It can be annoying, but there is a guy or two at every show who asks ridiculous prices for his stuff. Guess my take is that is their right if they wish. There is no rule that you can't price above BV, but I question how many sales can be made doing that. I certainly don't do that. The main thing is which I'm sure you were is to be respectful as it's his stuff and he's paying for his table and trying to enjoy his day as well..... if he has pipe dreams prices so be it, just walk away. You'll find them cheaper another day.

Did you try to haggle with him? Some price high, but will come down if you work them a bit.

yea, you guys do make reasonable points. I am just irked that someone is doing that to people. He wouldn't haggle for anything, well he got my 12 bucks for the cards I did buy. So if I see him again I am not gonna even try for a sale with him
