Rose will *never* be in the HOF. He's banned permanently from the game. The only way for the ban to be lifted is he petitions and has his petition accepted. He won't have his petition heard while alive, and he won't be able to file a petition once he's dead.

Why? A lifetime ban was never the penalty for their infractions. Honestly, the BBWAA is acting like a secondary commissioner by keeping Bonds & Clemens out.
