Position Grade: A
This class has top tier talent and depth. Best position of any in this draft, with notable players able to play both the 4-3 DT spot, and the 3-4 NT and DE spots.

Further Analysis:
With my seat being clear and far away from the action, and not at the scouting meetings or anything like that, I have Suh over McCoy. I am big on the stock of Jared Odrick, especially if he is put at a 3-4 DE spot. Brian Price’s stock has slid down the boards a bit, but I think he can still be a productive 4-3 defensive tackle in the pro’s.

Feel free to discuss anything Defensive Tackle-related here.

Hard to argue with much here. I think Odrick, despite his off-the-field issues, could sneak into the top 10-12.

You know my love of Suh and how much it's going to suck when the Rams pass on him.

Any other year, McCoy would be the clear No. 1 DT prospect.

I think Arthur Jones, if he didn't get hurt, would rank even higher.

A guy I'm really disappointed in is Brian Price. He had a chance to be a top 10 pick but had a really poor off-season.

Not picking Suh will be a brutal watch for you. Having seen that dude in person at the Holiday Bowl, holy crap.

Arthur Jones' misfortune has likely set himself up to be a pretty nice deal for someone.

As a PAC-10 fan you should have seen enough Brian Price to know he is a menace and should be the #3 or 4 DT on the board.

The guy was unblockable last season which is why he was DPOY in the conference.

From the past season's standpoint, certainly a force at the 4-3 DT. However, I seriously don't know what he's doing for scouts of late. Almost everything has been negative about him. I try to factor in both the season and workouts, and don't cheat like the major network guys do and use ties.

The guy brought it on the field, improved a bit all three seasons as well. Besides conditioning be a bit of an issue he kept his nose clean and played hard. And his numbers were better then McCoy had this year to boot.

Hawks dont have a huge need at DT, but I would be pleased if they added him to the middle. Alualu cant hold his jock

From a physical standpoint, absolutely correct with the Price compared to Alualu. Alualu has value as a 3-4 DE though as well, and has played in both a 4-3 and 3-4 in his 4 years at Cal. Cumulative value there that appeals to many.

Take a step back and look at the league for a minute. Factor in the number of teams switching to 3-4 defenses (or that switched to 3-4's last year) that still lack effective personnel at the NT and interior DE positions. Look at it from a supply and demand model, and you'll see the 3-4 NT/DE guys will get picked out of talent slot regularly (I.E. Tyson Jackson last year, a top 15-20 value in the top 5). I've factored this trend into these rankings.
