Finally sat down and got one of these done. Can't wait for the Combine to screw these rankings up. :lollol:

1) St. Louis: Ndamukong Suh, DT – Nebraska: He’ll either be the top pick by St. Louis, or they’ll trade his rights to someone else and get one of the QB’s and extra compensation.
2) Detroit: Gerald McCoy, DT – Oklahoma: Detroit has to decide on whether they’ll improve their offensive line, or start putting together pieces on defense. This pick makes great sense, since McCoy works as both a BPA and a need pick.
3) Tampa Bay: Eric Berry, S – Tennessee: Tampa is in a great position here, whether it is to trade up and get a defensive tackle (Suh trade possibly), or take Berry, who plays another position of need for them.
4) Washington: Jimmy Clausen, QB – Notre Dame: Shanahan gets his QB of the future here, already showing that Dan Snyder’s meddling has an effect on him. With the way Campbell has been treated, this debatable overdraft of Clausen is the result.
5) Kansas City: Russell Okung, OT – Oklahoma State: KC has plenty of needs to fill, but their offense won’t start ticking without some further help on the offense line. Here’s where they start.
6) Seattle: Anthony Davis, OT – Rutgers: Okung coming off the board pushes Seattle to look at their prime concerns for the upcoming season. With Clausen, Berry, and Okung off the board, they work down their chart and take Davis as the transition LT of the future.
7) Cleveland: Rolando McClain, LB – Alabama: Cleveland’s needs are simple: Find more playmakers on defense. Mangini uses the big board and has McClain higher than other need positions and makes the selection.
8) Oakland: Joe Haden, CB – Florida: Al Davis is back. From the bits and pieces of games he saw last season, he found that #2 CB Chris Johnson gave up way too many yards when teams opted to throw away from the highly paid Asomugha. Therefore, he drafts what he sees as the final piece of the puzzle, leaving Cornell Green and Mario Henderson to protect still franchise QB Jamarcus Russell.
9) Buffalo: Sam Bradford, QB – Oklahoma: Fans in Buffalo are not happy, and with the early run on offensive tackles, Bills management makes a reach for their franchise QB, as Fitzpatrick and "Captain Checkdown" Trent Edwards aren’t using their offensive stars effectively.
10) Jacksonville: Derrick Morgan, DE – Georgia Tech: The Jaguars filled their offensive needs at the offensive tackle positions, and have had solid contributions from Terrence Knighton up the middle. What they haven’t seen is inspired play from their DE positions, so they draft accordingly.
11) Denver: Dez Bryant, WR – Oklahoma State: This seems like an inevitable situation in Denver, with Marshall being on the outs. They’ll draft future holdout Dez Bryant, who is the client of Eugene Parker. Parker, of Michael Crabtree holdout notoriety, should try and actually get his client into camp if Marshall is indeed traded.
12) Miami: Sergio Kindle,DE/OLB – Texas: Miami takes Kindle to add to their pass rush. Parcells’ draft strategy typically leans towards taking defensive players if there is any doubt about the pick value, so that is the trend here.
13) San Francisco: CJ Spiller, RB – Clemson: The 49ers need an explosive piece on offense, and Spiller fills that role. He also provides a major boost to an inept special teams unit. The 49ers hope he is that player that steals them 7 points in a close game. He’ll also be the leverage that gets Gore to sign one of those “please keep me in town” deals that Tomlinson signed in San Diego last year, when that time comes in his contract (a long time away!).
14) Seattle: Earl Thomas, S – Texas: Blown away by what the 49ers just did, Seattle goes right down their draft board and continues to fill in spots. Adding starters to both sides of the ball in the 1st round so far, Seattle sets up their 2nd round pick to either draft a DE, QB, or value RB. They start the run on safeties early, anticipating that other teams will do the same within the next 5-10 picks.
15) New York: Jason Paul-Pierre, DE – South Florida: The Giants’ defense needs inspiration, as most of them either seem disgruntled, or headed towards free agency. Or both. They take the physical freak, and plan to transition him into the defense as the year progresses.
16) San Francisco: Bryan Bulaga, OT – Iowa: Bulaga is a versatile offensive lineman whose down-hill run blocking is as strong as his pass blocking. The 49ers need both at the RT spot, as they run a bipolar offense that attempts to fool opponents as well as themselves on a weekly basis. Alex Smith can now admire the field before rolling right and throwing the ball out of bounds.
17) Tennessee: Carlos Dunlap, DE – Florida: The Titans can afford to roll the dice here a bit, and do so in a big way with Dunlap. They’ll get some bad publicity over it, but they’ve done well with DE’s from Florida in the past.
18) Pittsburgh: Dan Williams, NT – Tennessee: The 1st round has been fun so far, with a few curves thrown here and there. Pittsburgh likes to stay a step ahead in terms of personnel, so with a minor contractual dispute with long-time NT Casey Hampton, they draft his long-term replacement.
19) Atlanta: Sean Weatherspoon, OLB – Mizzou: Atlanta needs to upgrade on defense, with OLB, CB, and DE being at the top of their list. They’ll take the best 4-3 guy they can find.
20) Houston: Brian Price, DT – UCLA: Houston has watched this first round with their hands over their eyes, hoping that Earl Thomas would have fallen to them. However, they realize that they aren’t getting a great ROI on their DT picks in the past, so they keep trying with Price.
21) Cincinnati: Taylor Mays, S – USC: Cincinnati decides to roll the dice here and take the workout warrior of the draft. Putting him under the tutelage of Marvin Lewis and Mike Zimmer, they’ll see if they can get that same high risk-high reward they were able to get out of Rey Maualuga last year.
22) New England: Ricky Sapp, OLB - Clemson: The Pats work him out and think he’ll help fix what has gone wrong for the Pats on D. The Patriots use a different list than the rest of the league, so I can’t tell what they'll do. We all saw what they did with Vollmer last year, shocking people quite a bit. This should raise a few eyebrows.
23) Green Bay: Bruce Campbell, OT – Maryland: The Packers get a nice value at this spot with Campbell, who can step in and help fill the long term need at offensive tackle for the Packers.
24) Philadelphia: Everson Griffen, DE – USC: The Eagles need some Front Seven help, and this is the start of that process. They'll get guys like Bradley back, and might start beating Dallas again.
25) Baltimore: Damian Williams, WR – USC: Baltimore has to replace Derrick Mason eventually, and this is the best opportunity to do so. They are pleased.
26) Arizona: Trent Williams, OT – Oklahoma: As we saw last year with Michael Oher and Eben Britton, projected RT’s have a tendency to slide. Apparently the Cardinals coaching staff thinks it can move Levi Brown from RT to LT. 27) Dallas: Charles Brown, OT – USC: Gives Dallas some more beef on the offensive line. With a safety deep draft, they’ll take their chances in the 2nd round finding someone to compete for the job next year.
28) San Diego: Terrence Cody, NT – Alabama: SD drafted DB’s like mad, only to realize they weren’t collapsing the pocket anymore. Cody will aid that process.
29) New York Jets: Jerry Hughes, OLB/DE – TCU: Defensive coaches have a tendency to draft defensive players. Tate could have been the pick here, but I figured that Edwards will get a new deal in New York with the way things have gone. Another year of continuity should help him and Sanchez get on the same page.
30) Minnesota Vikings: Mike Iupati, G – Idaho: They have to slowly retool the push on that offensive line.
31) New Orleans: Navorro Brown, LB – Penn State: The Saints have the pieces on offense, now they’ll build up the quality on D.
32) Indianapolis: Jared Odrick, DT – Penn State: Hopefully the Colts find a DT that can stick this time. I feel like it's the same old thing every mock draft. :lollol:
