Great card, and I had no clue that Jenkins didn't come up with the Cubs.

Well Justin Steele of the Cubs is a name many will know, and I found out about him in a series against my Giants a few weeks ago. But a couple of days later another Cubs lefty pretty much shut them down too; Jordan Wicks. He's only thrown 22 innings so far but he's 3-0 with a 1.99. So he's my...

Another piece of the trivial minutia locked in my head. This 1998 Upper Deck card doesn't seem special, but on July 18, 1998, I saw Alex Ochoa do some special things at the Oakland Coliseum. In the 2nd inning, he HOSED Rafael Bournigal at the plate, and in the 7th he HOSED Ryan Christenson at...

Gotta love Topps' humor with these comics. I mean, I do love me a good SNAKE HUNTING session now and again....it makes me think though that Mario Mendoza of 'Mendoza line' fame got a bum rap; he finished his career at a relatively robust .215, whereas our designated snake hunter here Bob Davis...

Had to have this one. He'll be remembered for a few things, but I really like his HR against Mike Marshall in the '74 WS. There was a delay, and Marshall refused to take warmups after that. MM fancied himself a technician, studied the science and all that. No t-shirt in freezing weather, that...

Random pages; the one with Munson, etc, were mostly bought in waxpacks as a 9-year old kid. The other one with Buckner was stuff I got recently. And hey, IMHO Buckner's career should not be defined by one error in the WS. He was a hell of a player; he won a batting title in '80, and I'm pretty...

    Question re: eBay Sellers

Yeah, per the sellers' feedback, it looks like he/she sometimes waits a long time to ship, then sometimes never does, and the overall rating isn't the best I've seen. Time to start a 'do not buy from' list. MT

    Question re: eBay Sellers

Question; has anyone suspected some eBay sellers put up ads for cards they don't own, then when they get the order, go out and try to find them? I'm just wondering because of some recent buys I made, MT

Real Quick Question on Card Protectors

Went back and checked, and the Card Saver II protectors I bought were pretty inexpensive, so I think rather than invest any more money in a different protector, I'll just put each card in one of those. Until/unless some of these cards start to sell. MT

No need. Those will be too tall. Thanks for the help. Edit: I need the 3" x 4" protector. MT

Real Quick Question on Card Protectors

Thanks, AndyDrummond. Are these the ones with the PSA thing at the top? I won't be grading anything. I really love the Card Saver II so this is great news, MT

Real Quick Question on Card Protectors

Hey, probably a real basic question for this forum; I have been shipping single cards in the Card Saver II semi-rigid protectors. I have several 100-lots of 1991 Upper Deck where I just can't get a single sale but they aren't doing me any good sitting here. I put 10-lots up for sale, no joy. I...

LOL...'That's MISTER Gooden to the likes of you...'!! I concur. Mad respect. You know who I just think were underrated studs of that era; Harold Baines and Eddie Murray. Good grief those guys could hit in their sleep. 'Course that's a whole 'nother topic. MT

Why a Score '89 Gooden? Just look at the back, at his career W-L and ERA. Yikes. Then look at '85. I forgot how dominant he was. MT

    Yet another eBay disappointment

That box I showed the P/N of above, is the outer box my cards arrived in. The seller did a really good job inside, not outside. I believe the box you're referencing is the inner box that the cards sit in. MT

    Yet another eBay disappointment

Related to this somewhat, is anybody using the below box to ship complete sets? Ads say it's for shipping but my recent set arrived in this box damaged and when I compare it to other boxes I see, it seems like it's asking for trouble. MT

    Another Weird One

Folks - opening some more old boxes in dusty closets and I finally found a few stray Kellogg's 3D cards and some Topps super cards but they're really beat up. especially the Super cards. Better news was that I found my complete Fleer sets which I bought new, and put in albums/sleeves for 4 years...
