Colts/Pats

I'm angry.

My wife told me to calm down.

That makes me angrier.

I hate it when I'm watching football and my wife tells me to calm down. I just want to smack her. I also hate cocky fans who act even more cocky when their team is really good.

Pats didn't win that game, the Colts lost it. Indy was beating them with their offense and with their defense. Late in the game they got scared and changed the way they defended the Pats. They stopped attacking and started trying to cover and stop the big plays and ended up allowing them to occur. Biggest mistake they made was giving Brady the time to allow his routes to open up. They lived with the pressure and they should have died with it.

Until the 4th Brady looked mediocre, and would have looked worse had Moss not made catches where catches would not have been made in 99% of other cases.

Wish the Pats would have lost. Their condescending mule of a coach and all the chest beating fans truly need a slap of reality. I'd love to see a terrible team manhandle them.

yeah it really sucks that even though i have been a fan of the dolphins my whole(mostly cause i love dan marino) but it never bothered me that the pats/red sox were good until about the second super bowl title when the fans of those teams really showed out
i guess its not all of them but nearly every fan of a team from the new england area is a giant douche

Reggie Wayne dropping a sure TD pass didn't help either. Good game though.

I'm with you on that last line of your post. I can't wait for them to lose and it will happen.

The Eagles are terrible and we play them soon. For the first time in history the Eagles might have more than 4 people rooting for them.

They stopped attacking because the adjustment the Pats made. They started hitting Moss on quick slants, and dump offs to Faulk and Welker over the middle. No pass rush can defend plays like that. Add in the fact that they started running a hurry up offense and it makes it impossible for a defense to attack. It's the same thing the Colts offense does to every single defense they play...they go into a hurry up and the defense doesn't have time to get itself in order.
The Colts D-line was impressive as hell, but you just can't say they blew the game because they stopped getting pressure when the hurry up started. They were the reason the Colts were winning in the first place.
And saying the Colts lost it? Please. The Pats made huge plays down the stretch. Welker with 2 big punt returns, Jarvis Green had a strip sack (Manning hadn't lose a fumble in the RCA dome since 05) and Stallworth, Moss, Welker and Brady were ridiculous in the last 10 minutes. Give a little credit where credit is due.
And FYI, if the entire universe claimed that your team never should have won 3 super bowls and that you are evil, disgusting cheaters, you would take a little more pride in winning than usual.

Didn't see this post. That was not directed directly at you. I live in CT now so I have my fair share of Pats nuts here that are all cocky right now.

OK
:D

Pats were doing middle dumps to Maroney before that, and they went away from it because the LBers were holding tighter in the box, rather than moving back or flaring off in coverage. Short stuff wasn't available. The Pats were taking what the Colts were giving them and being effective off of it. Had the Colts not "changed" the way they were defending, the slants and dumps would not have been there. They weren't doing quick passing to alleviate the pass rush, Brady was being given more time and the coverage was backing off the receivers to deny the deep stuff. The short passes and middle screens were used because they were now there. The Colts went into a form of prevent and that allowed New England to exploit it.

But I can see how that appears to you that the almighty Patriot juggernaut made adjustments and Belichick's genious prevailed.

I'm sorry you cannot see that the Colts beat themselves yesterday. Their miscues in execution (unforced drops, etc.) and choices that ended up preventing them from closing out their lead with a victory caused that loss. I give credit that New England did execute when it mattered. Prior to the 4th they looked average with some great plays by individuals to give them that rating. I saw a Colts team adjust their play to try to hold a lead. I saw a New England team take advantage of that. The Pats play calling did not force the change, it took advantage of it. They were completing deep balls against double coverage. If they were forcing the change it would have been deep completions in man to man, or down the middle of the cover 2 that drew the lbers back. Welker had some nice returns. The strip sealed the game for the Pats. Yes, your recivers performed up to their contract levels. But I stand by the fact that the Colts played 3 quarters of football good enough to beat the Pats and failed to stick to their strategy to close the show.

I guess the real statement to your last one would be:

"If the entire universe claimed that your team never should have won 3 super bowls and that you are evil, disgusting cheaters, you would get off rubbing another win in and strutting around pompous, narcissistic and egotistical as ever."

Belichick doesn't have a humble bone in his body.

Still hope someone slaps the reality back into the Patriot swollen head. ;)

i thought both teams played like sissy-la-las the first 3 quarters not playing their usual open up a can of whoop on the other team...very conservative play calling

I havent read any post in this thread, and I dont intend to. I had a great time at the game. I wish the Colts could have pulled it out, but was proud that they did as well as they did with Harrison,Ugoh,,Keiaho, and Hagler all out.
Almost all fans were nice to each other.(that I saw). Had a great time. THats what its all about.
