So for those of you who know me, you know that my favorite player of all time is the Colossus of Clout, the Sultan of Swat, the Great Bambino.....Babe Ruth! His Cooperstown plaque says he is the greatest drawing card in the history of the game, and that still holds true, I mean, everyone knows how awesome he is, and he is still the standard.....I help coach my son's 9 year old team, and the kids even talk about the Babe! This morning, my 6 year old asked me how many hits he had, and I confidently assumed he was in the top 3, maybe 5.
Does anyone know were the Babe rates on the all time hits list?
#46.
The Babe ranks #46 on the all time hits list with 2873, after dignitaires such as Rafael Palmiero, Omar Vizquel, and ironically, a spot ahead of one Harold Baines, who I always thought of as a slightly unlikely Hall of Famer. I could NOT believe that!
Fortunately, Babe is still #3 on the all time RBIs list, with Pujols passing him just last season!
