Too harsh. I'm no fan of Vick, but in a time where people get straight probation for child abuse and/or ****** assault, two years for fighting dogs is ludicrous.

Vick should move to Hollywood and do his 84 minutes of jail time like Lindsay and Nicole.

I agree with Rake.Far worse crimes people are commiting and getting straight probation.I was betting on a yr max,less with good behavior and thought that would be sufficent.
I don't believe his career is over.Depending on what the state charges bring.He could be back in 09.

Not really fair to compare sentences as these are all independent events. He r'cd what he was in line for for the crimes he committed, remember these are new statutes they are going after people with. And as mentioned, lying about his **** tests results to the judge (apparently told probation people he took it 2 months before tests, told fbi he took it day before) helped give him more. Also, I believe it is 3 years not 3 months probation.... or 24 dog years :shifty:

Serving 23 months means he won't be out pending good behavior or act of bush until October of 2009, at which point he will meet with the NFL. So at best he is looking at a 2010 return to the league, after three years off.

And at best with good behavior that will only shave 3 moths off the sentence. Anyone looking for a Vick return before 2010 is really out in left field. I'm thinking if the state charges are allowed (still possible they may not be made ) that will add at least another year concurrent so now we're looking at 2011 before he touches down. Dude is toast and burnt toast at that.

Exactly! Much more to it. I'm a Falcons fan but the sentence seems fair to me. Our judicial system is far too lenient, maybe this is a step in the right direction.

Vick will be 30-31 if he's reinstated in 2010 or 2011. He'll suck, but someone will take a chance on him (if Brock Berlin can start a game in the NFL, an 'Old' Vick will probably get a shot as well).

Here is the thing this is just Federal. He can still get alot more time for his VA state charges. He is now broke so when he does get out even if he is in his late 30's he will try for a comeback. He has no choice he will have to try and make a living. Personaly I have always hated him and took alot of heat for it so this is fair justice to me. not enough time as far as I'm concerned. And as far as the other crimes getting less, that is a crime in itself.

Child molestation should be life automatically and violent crimes should be 25 years minimum.
