With the first 26 batters retired tonight at Comerica Park, Joyce call the hitter safe. Replays show Armando stepped on first with a half step to spare over the runner. Perfect Game #21 ruined! Watch the replay, then join this facebook page.

Fire Jim Joyce!

that call really upset me and i'm not even a Tigers fan...From my angle i originally gave Joyce the benefit of the doubt thinking maybe he bobbled it...but he didnt...also after the game, Leyland said Joyce told him he thought the runner beat the throw...that was the ONLY thing i didnt think was possible! I dont think it was on purpose that he made that call, but the league SHOULD have overturned it to a perfect game, but the spineless Bud Selig wont do anything about it...Typical

Manager Jim Leyland has come out earlier today and said that the Tigers won't issue a complaint to get the perfect game overturned.

And they shouldn't overturn it. Bad calls sadly happen all the time,in all sports and it's the human nature element that baseball refuses to part with. Maybe this gets the old me of the game to get off their a$$ and think about changes

As the rules are now, I agree with HiEnd..The call should stand, but this should be springboard for some type of replay to get calls right. I would not be against an instant replay, after all the umpires get together and can't come up with a call..then take a second look at it, but only after that.

A lot of people are calling for this, one person came up with this SIX MONTHS AGO:

You get two instant replay review per game on a call you feel was ruled unjustly. This would be plays at 1B like this game, foul/fair balls, catches/traps, and even HR calls like they use it for now. Managers can use them whenever they want, but once you use one you have no way of earning it back (like how it works in FB).

Just saying, this would work!
