Dallas members of an FBI task force arrested a woman at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the home of Dallas Mavericks star Dirk Nowitzki.
Cristal Taylor Cristal Taylor, 37, was arrested at the home in the 10700 block of Strait Lane, near Royal Lane and Inwood Road, on warrants accusing her of a probation violation and a theft charge, Dallas police said.
The theft of service charge is from Jefferson County, Texas. The probation violation charge is from Missouri, where Taylor was serving a probation sentence for two counts of forgery and one count of felony stealing, authorities said.
Taylor’s relationship to Nowitzki was not clear. The Mavericks and Nowitzki declined to comment.
According to anonymous sources quoted by CBS 11 News, Nowitzki hired a private investigator to check into the woman's background after the two became acquainted. The investigator learned that she was using an alias, the station's sources said.
CBS 11 quoted Kim Leach, spokeswoman for the Dallas County Sheriff's Office, as saying the woman has at least eight aliases, including Chrystal Ann Taylor, Crystal Ann Taylor, Debra Johnson, Shana Mancini, Krista Santiago, Crystal Ann Santiago, Cristal Westerhaus and Crista A. Westerhays.
