Signature cards of the legendary sack specialist Bruce Smith highlight new Upper Deck Football releases

North Las Vegas, NV (December 10, 2008) – Some retired players just do not sign very often. Bruce Smith, one of the greatest defensive players in NFL history has been one of those players, until now. Upper Deck reached a deal with the 11-time Pro Bowl legend to sign autograph cards in the recent releases of 2008 SP Rookie Edition Football and 2008 Ultimate Collection Football.

Bruce Smith hasn't signed for trading card companies in ages so his inclusion in new sets is obviously exciting news for collectors. Smith is featured as a member of the Washington Redskins where he retired with the NFL record of 200 career sacks.

Two signature cards were released of the "Sack Man" in 2008 SP Rookie Edition Football. Only one has surfaced on e-Bay so far and it is currently available for close to $60 with over four days remaining.

For 2008 Ultimate Collection Football he will be included in the "Legends Autograph" set. This special set features newer legends that were still playing when this famous 1997 Upper Deck Legends set was initially released. He will join other legends like Troy Aikman, John Elway, Emmitt Smith, Barry Sanders, Jerry Rice and more.

Collectors can find 2008 SP Rookie Edition Football in stores now. Upper Deck will launch 2008 Ultimate Collection Football on February 11.

maybe i'm just a homer, but since he had his most of his years/great years in buffalo...i think there should be a card of him in a bills uni!

Agree completely. He became a legend wearing a Bills uni, anything other than that is almost disrespectful
