This is a quote from the original person who brought up this item. This is not my own work, but would like to see what the Freaks think on it too.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Soon we will see two very good second basemen up for Hall of Fame consideration: Roberto Alomar and Jeff Kent.

What are your thoughts as to each? Here is a comparison of major offensive statistics:

Alomar Kent ?????

G 2379 2298 2164
H 2724 2461 2386
R 1508 1320 1318
HR 210 377 282
RBI 1134 1518 1061
BA .300 .290 .285

Fairly comparable totals, I would say. (And, if you are wondering, the mystery player in the third column is Ryne Sandberg, who is already enshrined in the HOF)

Let the debate begin. Alomar or Kent?

don't you remember the Alomar spitting on an umpire incident? Just saying

Yep,and Kent getting hurt, violating his contract rules and lying about it to the Giants, and Kent just being a total a-hole

ALOMAR.

Kent beats him on power numbers (with a couple of BIG seasons during the height of the sterioid era, just sayin') but everything about else says Alomar. Better with the glove, better all around player.
