Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer missed his second straight practice at training camp due to an illness.

Palmer is suffering from flu-like symptoms.

Palmer became ill sometime after the first session of two-a-days Saturday and didn't participate in the night practice or Sunday's session. Backups J.T. O'Sullivan and Jordan Palmer are taking all reps with the Bengals' offense.

Also, the Bengals signed veteran cornerback Jamar Fletcher, who played for Cincinnati last season and started two games. The signing comes one day after backup cornerback David Jones suffered a foot injury in Saturday's practice.

Bengals' Palmer returns to practice

After a two-day hiatus, Cincinnati Bengals starting quarterback Carson Palmer rejoined his team at training camp and participated in Cincinnati's Monday morning practice.

Palmer felt ill Saturday and missed the Bengals' last two sessions. According to a source, he was dealing with flu-like symptoms over the weekend. Backups J.T. O'Sullivan and Jordan Palmer took over the duties at quarterback for Cincinnati.

Carson Palmer, who is coming off a season-ending elbow injury, needs all the reps he can get in training camp. He hasn't played in an NFL game since October 5, 2008 as the Bengals finished 4-11-1 last season.
