Known on the PSA Set Registry as MOSH (Museum of Sports History) he is being forced to liquidate his collection through Mint State Cards:

He is #1 or #2 on virtually every set going in football and baseball. All the football sets have been retired.

Yeah, he's in a heap of trouble. It's not a ponzi scheme that he's been busted for but rather selling bunk tax shelters to some very wealthy individuals.
 
A Ponzi scheme is where someone elicits investments from people, and, rather than invest the money, they keep it. But, to keep people from knowing, they keep eliciting more investments to pay dividends/interest on the prior investments. Eventually it always catches up to the person.

Tax shelter is just a term for any type of ****od of reducing the taxes you pay on income.
