Baseball Official Playoff & World Series Thread

Well, it's that time again! Unfortunately, not everyones favorite team can be in the playoffs and only 2 teams meet in the World Series.
Use this thread to post your playoff hopefuls, predictions, and general discussions.
As soon as the Playoff schedule is posted, I will be holding contests starting with the divisions and working all the way up to the World Series. There will be lots of winners and some really cool prizes given away with a grand prize at the end of the WS.
And who am I rooting for??? ....................The Indians!! Goooo Tribe!!!

The magic number represents the combination of wins by the leading team and losses by the second-place (or tied) team that would clinch the division title.
The Magic Numbers for the Division Leaders are as follows:
American League
Boston Red Sox (12)
Cleveland Indians (11)
Los Angeles Angels (9)
National League
NY Mets (11)
Chicago Cubs and Milwaukee Brewers tied for first
Arizona Diamnodbacks (14)

Yanks finally will beat the angels because:

Red Sox will get homefield, and yanks will get the longer series so Pettite and Wang go 1 2 4 5 if needed, and if Clemens or Hughes or Mussina can pitch decent in game 3 def. have a shot.

But Pettitte has always been a choke artist in the playoffs...........

I think its the Angels year. They look unbeatable at times..

Didnt they sweep Boston or NY on the Road this year?

Only way Boston can face NYY is in the ALCS.

Hopefully Boston will face Cleveland and NYY will face the Angels.

In the NL I wish the Dodgers can make it but they don't have the depth in the pitching to get them there although they have a good bullpen.

So I am hoping DBacks-Cubs and Mets-Brewers should be entertaining.

Out of those 8 teams it may be a rematch of 2000 WS with Yankees-Mets.
Of course I am in CA so I am also hoping for Angels-Mets but some how some way if the Cubs can make the WS that would be awesome.

Diamondbacks=2007 WS Champs!!!

I'd like to see that happen but I dont know if it will (obviously), If Byrnes, Webb, TC and some of the other vets can lead all those young guys, then they can do it. I think the dbacks are the most exciting team in the NL.

The dbacls will make the playoffs by either wildcard or divison title also if they do go to the ws and face any1 except Boston or yanks they have better chance to win and also if we do meet Boston if will be 2001 all over again except with boston Bob Melvin for manager of the year!!!!!!!!!!!!
