Michigan reserve running back Kevin Grady is serving a seven-day jail sentence after pleading guilty Thursday to violating his probation for a drunken driving conviction last summer.
Grady entered the plea Thursday in Kent County District Court.
A senior, Grady had been on probation after pleading guilty to misdemeanor DWI. He was stopped by police July 2 in Wyoming, Mich., and had a blood-alcohol level of .24 -- three times the legal limit.
Court officials told The Grand Rapids Press that Grady failed to comply with his probation requirements in Ann Arbor, including community service, and also tested positive for opiates.
Grady was suspended for Michigan's season opener last fall against Utah but appeared in the team's final 11 games as a reserve. A heralded high school running back, Grady has 190 career carries for 703 rushing yards and nine touchdowns.
Wolverines head coach Rich Rodriguez is travelling and could not comment immediately on Grady's status with the team.
