Baseball Mets' Delgado to undergo surgery on ailing hip

New York Mets slugger Carlos Delgado needs surgery on his right hip, and there's no immediate word on when he might return to the lineup.

The Mets announced Monday that Delgado has a bone spur and a torn labrum in his hip.

Delgado was put on the 15-day disabled list Saturday. The first baseman is hitting .298 with four home runs and 23 RBIs in 26 games.

I have always liked delgado, hopefully he is back at it in a few months.
