I went to a garage sale today an this gentleman was telling me he had some autographed baseballs for sale, and they all looked pretty nice. The one that stuck out the most was a Mickey Mantle & Joe Dimaggio auto ball he said he didn't have the certificate anymore but he said he could provide a bill of sale or any other guarantee i would like other than the certificate. now i went to websites and looked at signatures and from what i remember it looked legit but i told him I would think about it he said he would hold it til tomorrow and if sombody else wants it it going bye bye. what should I do :stress:

if the price was right do it and then send it off to DNA/PSA for authentication. PSA/DNA is like the universal acceptance for items that have no COA's and do it a reasonable price. That would be a very good investment piece if it passes, which it sounds like it will.

The dual sig ball looks consistent, not forced, and with enough differentiation between the size, angularity and spacing between the 2 sigs that I'd have taken a shot at it. Also, no one willingly runs the M in Mantle into the 2 g's in DiMaggio if forging. On the other hand, with the Aaron I don't see him signing solo so close to the stitching, and there's some ink clumping and stop and starts that would have made me lay off... not saying it's fake- I do know Hank sometimes gets caught up in speaking while signing. I have seen him both A) sign his name twice on an item, and B) sign overtop of someone else.

I agree with NattyBoo too, the overlap makes me believe its real or you got a really bad forger. Aaron though you can tomorrow if you wanted too, so don't worry about buying that one. And also, send to over to PSA/DNA for maybe the amount he's asking for the Aaron to get the Joe/Mickey authenticated.

BTW, it kind of looks like Aaron is spelled with two R's there, coincidence?
