Wide receiver Brandon Marshall was a no-show at the Denver Broncos' mandatory minicamp on Friday morning, the Denver Post reported.

Marshall is recovering from hip surgery and likely would not have taken part in practice. But he was still required to appear and undergo rehab treatments, the newspaper reported.

Marshall, who is in the final year of a four-year deal that will pay him $2.2 million this season, has voiced discontent with his contract. He has also said he's not confident in the Broncos' medical staff, claiming they misdiagnosed the severity of his hip injury last season, according to the report.

Broncos coach Josh McDaniels was expected to address Marshall's absence at the end of Friday's workouts, according to the report.
