Lightning acquire goalie Anders Lindback from Predators

CBC - The Tampa Bay Lightning swung a deal with the Nashville Predators on Friday, picking up big goalie Anders Lindback.

Lindback, depth forward Kyle Wilson and a seventh-round pick are Tampa Bay's in exchange for veteran goalie Sebastien Caron, a pair of second round picks in the draft later this month, and a third round pick in next year's draft.

The two picks from this year's draft that Tampa Bay had acquired from other clubs.

Lindback has gone 16-13-2 record with a 2.53 goals against average and a .914 save percentage while backing up Nashville star goalie Pekka Rinne.

The six-foot-five Lindback is a restricted free agent. The Swede earned just under $740,000 US last season.

The Lightning missed the playoffs after reaching the Eastern Conference final in 2010-11, in large part due to their defensive play and goaltending. They ranked 30th in goals against despite being 17th in shots allowed.

Tampa Bay has veteran Mathieu Garon under contract for next season, as well as prospect Dustin Tokarski, who saw some action late in the season.

Earlier this week, they brought back 24-year-old Riku Helenius from Finland on a two-year deal, a netminder they drafted in 15th overall in 2006.

The Lightning on Friday also announced new deals for journeymen forwards Adam Hall and J.T. Wyman. Hall's is a one-way contract.
