GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP)—Olli Jokinen and the Phoenix Coyotes overcame a rough start to stop the NHL’s top team.
Jokinen had two goals and an assist Sunday night and the Coyotes came back from an early two-goal deficit to beat San Jose 4-2, snapping the Sharks’ seven-game winning streak.
“We believe 5-on-5 we can play against any team in this league,” Jokinen said. “We need to get better every day.”
Ilya Bryzgalov made 30 saves for his third win in five games for Phoenix.
“He’s making big saves and key saves,” Phoenix coach Wayne Gretzky said. “He’s really in a groove right now and it’s good to see.”
Peter Mueller scored the go-ahead goal early in the second period, and Viktor Tikhonov added his first career goal for the Coyotes, who have won three of four
