Historically Favorite Players from teams you do not like

As a fan of the NFL I know that others besides me have players they have always liked but have had no connection to (ie not from a college you pull for) on teams you tend to dislike.

Here is a short list of mine

1. Washington Redskins - John Riggins (the diesel is one of my all time favorite players even though I have never ever been a fan of the Redskins)

2. Philadelphia Eagles - Briam Westbrook (even though I am not a fan of many current players, I absolutely adore Westbrook)

3. San Francisco 49ers - Roger Craig (not the easy choice here of Montana, Rice or Young, but the guy that was truly the first great all purpose back before Faulk, Edge and Westbrook)

I would include the Falcons on this list, but I cannot think of one player that has ever played for them that I like (that did not go to LSU)

Teams I can't stand:
Lions - Barry Sanders (Hated him and loved him all at once)
Packers - Sterling Sharpe (I was sincerely sad when his career was ended by injury)
Vikings - The Williams's (one of the best tackle tandems I've ever seen, again, hate and admire them all at once)


I also can't stand the Rams, but the only player I can think of from their team that I've ever actually liked as a player was Trung Canidate, and his career is hardly even worth mentioning.

Packers - Sterling Sharpe
Broncos - Steve Atwater guy was a complete :rambo:
Various Teams - James Thrash, reminds me of Tom Waddle, as he usually gets leveled going over the middle but would never shy away from a catch

awbern - Chris Todd Nah, as far as players that were good, Ronnie Brown.

Cowboys (and UCLA)- Troy Aikman
Steelers- Hines Ward (2nd favorite....but can't list Polamalu)
Dolphins- Marino
Giants- Lawrence Taylor
