Chicago Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews returned to practice Wednesday for the first time in two weeks.

Toews took the ice in Phoenix as the team prepares for its matchup Thursday against the Phoenix Coyotes.

Toews left the game against the Vancouver Canucks on Oct. 21 after taking a hit from defenseman Willie Mitchell.

Since then, he's been suffering from apparent concussion-like symptoms and has been unable to practice or skate on his own.

The Blackhawks were waiting for the symptoms to subside before clearing him to skate. There is no word yet on whether he will play Thursday night. Toews has one goal and four assists in nine games this season.
