So does he actually have to take the green flag to gain the points, or can he just do a warm up lap, and come in, and make the switch with Vickers before the race takes the green?

Trying to stay in the top 20, so he can take a run a making the chase by winning the most races, but then again, he has to actually win those races to get in.
