That's not so far out of the ballpark. I sold a 2001 Pujols/Suzuki Fleer Platinum bat shards card for $5k on eBay. Mind you, it's the only one I've ever seen, so the others may have been destroyed, but in that context, the Trout rookie auto doesn't seem a stretch.
