Eagles swing another trade

CB Sheldon Brown and LB Chris Gocong traded to Cleveland for LB Alex Hall (?) and a 4th and 5th round picks.

I don't understand this trade for Philly. Is it a salary dump? Cleveland got 2 starting caliber players for a spot/special teamer and some late round picks. Eagles now have 10 picks in the upcoming draft.

From what i'm hearing this draft is very strong on the defensive side of the ball . So they might be thinking they can upgrade in the draft?

Philly doesn't want to re-up the 31 year old CB Brown in the near future, so they'll sell now and use the deep DB draft that Ernie mentioned to replace him long-term. Both teams ultimately should benefit in this one.
