Wow that is a huge deal for the pens, and Crosby. He'll be a Pen the rest of his career. Nice signing for both parties.

Why do you think it's a bad signing for the Pens? He's the best player in the NHL, and is locked up for many years, so they don't have to worry about him signing somewhere else. If you're worried about his concussions, which is a good reason to worry, the contracts are all insured, so if he doesn't play, insurance pays the salary. Not sure but I think it doesn't count towards the cap, either. Sid won't play 10 more years anyways before he finally hangs them up. I don't like the 10 year contract teams hand out either, but in this case it's just a way for management to say to Crosby you are gonna retire a Penguin, no matter how long you decide to play.
