Basketball Cavs chasing Sheed!

Looks like they are discussing an offer with him!

SLAM Online.

My sources say that Rasheed Wallace and the Cavs are beginning talks on a two-year deal worth about $10 million per for the services of the former Piston. The move and negotiations were inspired by Dwight Howard’s dominant performance over Cleveland’s big men in the Eastern Conference Finals. And Wallace will be brought in for that very purpose, to neutralize Dwight Howard next season and help the Cavs get over the hump.

This supports what we previously reported about what it will take for Sheed to come back next year.

If this signing falls through, I’m hearing that Cleveland may do a sign and trade with the Clippers for Zach Randolph, which certainly makes sense for the Clippers since they are taking Blake Griffin No. 1 overall.

I can't see Rasheed giving the Cavs what they really need.
i agree completely! Rasheed isnt that good at playing defense, we all remember him letting LeBron drive at will in the lane in the playoffs a few years back...

lol are you guys kidding me?

He is one of the only guys out east who can man Garnett and Dwight Howard. HE can hit the three, which brings out the big man. Now Lebron has a clear lane to drive.

Rasheed Wallace is exactly what Cleveland needs.

waht IF Rasheed and Ben are both with the CAVS next year? HEALTY of course... not a front line that I would want to be against

Rasheed's been playing for quite some time, he's aged. Also, his disruptive behavoir and his amount of technicals can't be a positive for a team like Cleveland.
All of Cleveland's big/tall guys hardly produce any offense, sheed's numbers last season weren't very good. Especially during the playoffs

oh your talking sports out of your butt.

Varejao is garbage, Ben Wallace is garbage, Big Z is garbage.

Rasheed is the reason why Detroit SWEPT Orlando this year.

Rasheed goes to Cleveland, and they win a title. Bottom Line. He is exactly what they need. He isn't a cancer like TO, Allen Iverson. Rasheed may run his moouth to REFS, but he is one hell of a team player. Fan Favorite too.

It's ON....
Thems some fighting words there!
Alright, I'll bet you a Rasheed Wallace Finest RC that "if" he does go to Cleveland he will not be near what they expected/needed. I feel his numbers will be lower than this past season.

:monkey2:

We can have a gentlemens bet.

I think he is starter, and he gets to play his natural position, PF. Not Center like he was playing on Detroit.

I bet he can have a good enough year next year to be consider for a reserve all star spot.

The thing is about Rasheed, he can hit the Three Ball, he has all the post moves, he has the defense to man up Dwight Howard.

Perfect fit for Cleveland.

Hater.

If only he would stop shooting so many threes. He is UNSTOPPABLE in the post. The only person that can stop Rasheed is Rasheed. He length and shooting touch is a lethal combo. He just doesn't seem to have the drive to do the work. He wants to stand outside and take the three.

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The rumor season is beginning and the Cavaliers are already involved.
Several reports over the last few days around the Internet have linked the Cavs to big men. As the team is certainly in the market for them, these reports are probably the first of many.

A report from Slam Magazine, a New York-based basketball publication, on Monday said the Cavs have opened negotiations with Pistons free agent center Rasheed Wallace on a two-year contract at $10 million per season. This is impossible and illegal; the Cavs do not have salary cap space to sign any player to a $10 million contract and any talks cannot begin until July 1.

It is likely the Cavs will contact Wallace at that time, as he's probably going to be on their list of free agent targets. But he will not get a $10 million contract from the Cavs or likely any team in the NBA.

The other part of the report said the Cavs would be interested in a "sign-and-trade" deal for Zach Randolph of the Los Angeles Clippers. Randolph is not a free agent, so calling it a sign-and-trade situation would seem to invalidate the entire report. When you consider the misinformation on the Cavs' cap position, the report seems even more off base -- though it got quite a bit of attention on the Internet and some television programs on Monday.

However, the Cavs and the Clippers could do business over the summer. The Clippers are expected to take Oklahoma star forward Blake Griffin with the No. 1 pick in the NBA Draft on June 25 and it would leave them with a glut of big men.

Randolph would be the last of them the Cavs are interested in, especially because he's owed $33 million over the next two seasons. Marcus Camby and Chris Kaman, though, are two centers who are on the Cavs' radar and could be trade targets.

Also in recent days, a Greek Web site has linked the Cavs and San Antonio Spurs to Ioannis Bourousis, a 6-foot-11 center who is a star of Euroleague power Olympiakos.

Bourousis, who was named to the Euroleague First Team, is a free agent and is fielding some interest from NBA teams. But according to a source, Olympiakos is prepared to make him an offer of around $2 million Euros tax free and that is more than any NBA team, including the Cavs, would probably be willing to offer
