The future is now for the winless Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who have named 2009 first-round pick Josh Freeman their new starting quarterback.

Freeman will make his first NFL start on Nov. 8 against the Green Bay Packers. The Buccaneers have a bye this week.

Byron Leftwich began the season as the Buccaneers' starting quarterback but was replaced after three games by Josh Johnson.

Neither quarterback has been able to spark Tampa Bay to a victory. The Bucs at 0-7 are one of three winless teams in the NFL.

Freeman, drafted 17th overall by the Bucs out of Kansas State, saw his first action in Sunday's ****out loss to the Patriots in London when he relieved Johnson. He completed two of four passes for 16 yards.
