NEW YORK - Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens and Sammy Sosa are set to appear on the Hall of Fame ballot for the first time, and fans will soon find out whether **** allegations can block the former stars from reaching baseball's shrine.
The ballot will be officially announced Wednesday.
Craig Biggio, Mike Piazza and Curt Schilling are certain to be among the other first-time eligible players. Jack Morris, Jeff Bagwell and Tim Raines are the top holdover candidates.
Members of the Baseball Writers' Association of America will vote through next month. The much-awaited results will be announced Jan. 9.
Bonds, Clemens and Sosa each posted some of the biggest numbers in the game's history, but were all tainted by accusations they used performance-enhancing *****.
Soooo, what do you Freaks think? Who deserves to go to the Hall?
Personally I think Piazza & Biggio should get in first ballot. The others I'm not so sure about a first time entry. Bagwell deserves his place as well. I definitely DO NOT want to see Bonds get in ever. His arrogance and flagrant defiance alone give him a big fat ZERO VOTES in my book.:ref:
