Bench Warmer
Last week, Upper Deck announced and packed out its last hurrah product for the basketball market, 2009-10 Exquisite Collection, and it showcased some of the impressive cards to be found online.

With the product’s release just a couple of days away, here’s a recap of those cards in some photographs taken by the company during the packaging stage.

Here is my prediction.

These extreme patches will lose appeal soon enough. Just like Lettermen lost their appeal as soon as UD put out a letterman in each pack type with Chronology. First it was a letterman, then it became a manufactured patch, then eventually there was a crap load of them around.

Same with happen with Exquisite patches. Looks like everything is patched nicely. They arent rare anymore. Look at the Premum Patches in 08-09. Every patch has a logoman, tag or multicolor. They arent rare. Logomen arent rare anymore. I can see the appeal of premium patches losing their appeal just like lettermen, logomen and autographs. The demise for demand on premium patches is close. Itll be just like another jersey card and end up in a commons box.
