The New Beginning

So earlier this month I posted about SCC's end.

Well, I'm happy to say that, as of today, that is no longer going to be the case! The day right after I posted "The End", I was hit up by a guy who wanted to acquire the site from me. We've exchanged quite a few messages over the last several weeks and today we were able to come to an agreement where he will become the new owner/admin of SCC.

So, effective immediately, @grapler135s is the new owner/admin.

I think his passion for the hobby, his kindness, his activity level, and his willingness to learn are all things that will benefit this site going forward.

Mike, let me be the first to say congratulations on your new role here.

Thank you Mike! I have really enjoyed my time on this site and all of the wonderful people that I have met here and am so glad that we were able to figure out a way to keep SCC up and running! Looking forward to doing anything and everything that I can to continue to keep this great site moving forward to be enjoyed by folks who love this hobby!

Mike,

Do you have a flyer template we can print off to see if we can post it on our local card shop windows, business cards, etc? Back in the day we had business cards at the bench forums we included with trades at other sites and putting on the counters of our local card shops, and in our auction sales. I am just throwing this out there. I am headed west this weekend and will check with local shops if I get the time around our sons graduation from KU.

just thinking outside the box

have a great trading day

I don't but that's a great idea! I'll see what I can come up with. I know I'm supposed to be designing some business cards for @AndyDrummond too so maybe we can send a few of those out to members who wanna help spread the word that way.
Depending on when you can get them made,I am going to Canton on the 26th and will drop at any Card shops we stop into!

I have a couple of ideas, not sure if they will work. I see you can list what your auctioning, but what if you put a link to your auctions ( Nachub Ebay Auctions, Nahcub Sportslots Auctions, etc) instead of one card or lot turning into a directory of all your auctions you list. This would give members a new way to find your auctions. When they click on your directory link you can leave a description of what you sell in your auctions and maybe offer a 5%, 10% discount to forum members, example below. Another idea is to add a pinned thread labeled Player collectors with a list for members to find player collectors ( Nachub Player Collector list) and list the players you collect which can also be a team thread for each sport, or list player name and list of members who collect said player. I can help if needed to help update lists. I am sure given time I may come up with more. Remember these are just my 3 cents.

Definitely a good idea, especially if folks are willing to give discounts to SCC members. That's awesome! I would also like to point out that if you add your Sportlots and eBay names in your account details, we will automatically add links to your Sportlots and eBay pages in your signature too.

Sad to hear you are giving up the site Mike, but Michael seems to be a very good replacement based on what I have seen so far. Best wishes to both of you in your future endeavors.
