The Cost of Freedom: Veterans Day - Edit: More 56k Friendly

Alot of you know that I went to the Traveling Viet Nam Memorial Wall today. Having lost 2 members of my family there, I was pretty much overwhelmed with memories and grief after finding their names and reflecting on why they aren't here today. The Veterans who were there today offered their support and shoulders. They helped me find the names of my uncles and then surrounded me at the wall so that I could grieve and remember without interuption.
For those of you who are too young to know or remember how many men fell in Viet Nam, I am sharing these pictures in hopes that you'll understand the cost of freedom. Over 58,000 men and women have their names on this wall. All died in-country. For those of you who do remember and understand, I think the pictures speak for themselves.

Why they died:

There are more pics in my bucket for anyone who would like to see them. I will be going back tonight for a candlelight memorial service and will have more pics available for anyone who would like to see them.
The Wall will be leaving here tomorrow night, if there is any member who would like a photo or rub of a family members name, please PM me with the name and I will find it and get the pic or rub or both for you.

Pretty proud to know what my uncle did for this country.

I know I didn't do anything near what he did for this country, but I will say I'm a proud Corporal of Marines, as he was.

Happy 232nd Birthday Marines.

Thanks for sharing Mikey! We should always remember our fallen heroes, the ones who made it possible for us to have the peace we all take for granted. Although many people would like to forget Viet Nam, we should never forget our soldiers. RIP!! On another note, it is Remembrance Day today (Sunday) here in Canada. I will be thinking of our fallen heroes, and will wear my poppy proudly, as I've been doing for more than a week. :)
