The Philadelphia 76ers have picked up contract options on three players, including starting small forward Thaddeus Young.

Sixers president Ed Stefanski says the team exercised options for Young and power forwards Marreese Speights and Jason Smith on Thursday. All three are under contract through the 2010-11 season.

The 21-year-old Young averaged 15.3 points last year as the 76ers made the playoffs for the second consecutive season.

The 16th overall pick in the 2008 draft, Speights averaged 7.7 points and 3.7 rebounds as a rookie. Smith, a 7-footer acquired in a draft-night trade in 2007, averaged 4.5 points and 3.0 rebounds in his first season before missing last year with a torn ACL.

The 76ers open the regular season on Oct. 28 at Orlando.
