It's good to see the NCAA coming closer to a Playoff Format...but really? Setting up a committee to pick the final four teams?
Using criteria such as winning their conference is a good idea, but strength of schedule? Who is to determine if one schedule is tougher than the other?
(okay SEC fans...bear with me on this...)
Let's say LSU goes 10-2 and gets in because they win their conference and due to their schedule strength (let's say that 6 of the teams they beat have a record of 8-4, while the other 4 teams are "scrub" universities and have records of 6-6).
...and Boise State goes 12-0, wins their conference, but the committee says their schedule was weak (let's say that 8 of the teams they beat have a record of 7-5, while the other teams are 6-6), so they don't get voted into the final four.
...or even worse of a scenario...using the "MUST WIN the Conference" criteria: let's say LSU goes 11-1 and wins their conference, and 'bama goes 11-1, finishing second, and the next best record in the NCAA is 10-2... 'bama would miss the playoffs.
There is alot of tweaking that needs to take place before the NCAA can really get to a Final Four Playoff System.
