The replacements were for a two hockey Cup cards that was never made. It depends on what you are replacing.

I'm going to guess that it has something to do with the two A's in his last name indicated by the card

But "Jianlian" would be his first name. The back of his jersey says "Yi"; the back of Yao Ming's jersey says "Yao"; even Ichiro Suzuki's jersey has "Ichiro" on the back.
