i hate "timed essays"

okay, granted i AM an english major, but my professor for british literature just gave us a "timed essay" which we have to finish within 6 hours or less. i think honestly, that its a somewhat dumb idea because he gave it to us a week ago, and it defeated the purpose of trying to keep it fair doesnt it?
oh well, i finished mine within 4 hours counting planning and revising, but i just thought about it for awhile an thought it was pointless. dont get me wrong though, i really like the professor and im learning a good amount. im probably in the minority, but i really think he should've just given us a regular essay or just give it to us later.

try this on for size...us history class test...we know there are 2 short essays (2-3 paragraph), and 2 long well developed essays (5+ paragraphs) and class is 50 minutes long...good times...we didnt know what the specific questions were until we got our tests...and it only covered what 400+ years of history...
