I have a whole bunch of crap that "magically" showed up (roommate being an idiot)

I can't get rid of it all!!!!

I remember when I got Spyware from looking at a site dedicated to Joe Schmo (Reality Show on Spike TV) I had to eventually just wipe my comp and restart, the program kept reinstalling itself

Good luck, and tell your roommate to listen to "Dr. Phil" comment.

if it's spyware you can download free spyware tracker/cleaner stuff

spybot seek and destroy is a good one, i had it but couldn't figure out how to work it and have it not pick up my other 2 spyware sweep programs

spysweeper is what i use along with adware

Both of these failed me :(

Actually they are very good. Adware SE Professional is a reliable one and Spybot S&D (Search and Destroy) is good aswell...both working together are a wonderful tool to keep spybot away.

I used Spy Sweeper but it made my PC slow so I get rid of it.

Kids' sites are notoriously bad for computers

Spybot S and D is great. Aware too. Spysweeper is crap. Google error messages, that seems to be a great tool if ya know a bit about computers. Good luck!!

A friend uses this for a log-on virus and other sweeper...

www.trendmicro.com

They have a free online sweeper, and Trend is a very trusted name.

I have a good friend that works for Norton, which is why I still have their software on my 'puter (has only let me down once, but was easy to clean)

Trend will be my next anti-crapware program.

My Norton friend is an Eagles fan anyway :lollol::lollol::lollol:

Avast

I got it from my tech guy at school it wants to be the only program your running, but it has kept the bad stuff away for the last two years. It updates daily and it was free

Look for the home edition and download if you want to give it a try.

Id recommend it for what it is worth.
