Portland center Greg Oden(notes) has still not been cleared to return to basketball action, the Portland Tribune reports.
New Blazers general manager Rich Cho told the paper that the center would not participate in the team's upcoming scrimmage this week.
“We’re going to ease him into it … maybe do some two-on-two or three-on-three, instead of up-and down five-on-five,” Cho said. “I’m hoping he’ll be cleared to do that in the next couple of weeks.”
The Blazers center is in Vancouver working with a strength and conditioning coach and is "coming along well" in his rehab, according to the report.
Oden, the No. 1 pick in the 2007 NBA draft, underwent surgery for a fractured left patella after appearing in just 21 games last season.
