Bench Warmer
Panini America officials on Thursday provided preliminary details and product images for the first high-end hoops product of the 2010-11 season – Limited Basketball, slated to release in late October.

The $100-for-seven-cards proposition is once again sure to reveal many high-risk, high-reward results in boxes that include at least one autograph and two memorabilia cards (every other box will include two autographs and one memorabilia card).

Rounding out the seven-card packs will be four additional cards (base, insert, Legend or parallel) numbered to 199 or less. The 140-card base set features 100 common cards numbered to 199 and 40 rookies numbered to 249.

The Glass Cleaners, Decade Dominance and Retired Numbers inserts will feature only on-card autographs. Other autograph highlights include Jumbo Prime Signatures numbered to five or less and on-card Next-Day Autographs from the next week’s NBA Rookie Photo Shoot.

Each master case of 2010-11 Limited (15 boxes) will include either an autograph memorabilia rookie numbered to 10 or less, an autograph prime memorabilia card numbered to 10 or less or a Limited Trios Signature card numbered to 49 or less.

Something is gonna half to change. The prices are to high for the amount of crap that is out there. even if you get a jordan or russell they don't book for crap anymore. I am seeing Jordan autos book for $400 or $500 and Russels for $100. Each year the add more and more autos to the overall number which continues to drive down the price.

I remember when jordan autos automatically meant $1000 or more.

It's a shame really.

supply and demand

we the collector screamed for more highend products
more jordan auto's more kobe auto's etc..

they the card companies complied to our demands.
i personally love the look of the new stuff panini is releasing, and since i dont collect for the $$ aspect of it purely for the fun of collecting i am glad prices are going down more on jordan auto's.

As it has been stated numerous times b4 his older auto 98/99-05/06 will always be in high demand and therefore demand a premium.

No the companies have screwed us

they have managed to get $40-$400 packs all while increasing the number of regular crap jerseys and increasing the jordans, driving down their price. Nothing like paying $400 for a pack and get the best card available (jordan) and it is not worth as much as the pack you just paid for.

There should never be a regular jersey card in a pack of $50-$100 cards.

If I wanted crap jersey cards, I'll buy topps or regular upper deck.

not sure how long you have been collecting but i have been for over 20 years and for 20+ years i acclimate card collecting to legalized gambling.

when you go to the casino and put your money down on black it is the luck of the draw with what you land on

when you go to the lcs and buy a box of Exquisite it is the luck of the draw.

as stated in my previous post i do not collect for the money aspect of collecting i collect for the love of the hobby and sport.

I look at it this way if i am willing to pay $100+ for a pack of cards which i do on a regular basis, then i am willing to take the risk of pulling a serge ibaka jersey.

The way you put it in your previous statement is that if we pay $40+ for a pack of cards then we should get $40+ worth of cards out of said pack. If you are more concerned with the $$ amount that you receave from a pack of cards then i would suggest you stick to buying singles.

The fun of busting a high end pack is the thrill of the possibility of pulling the card of a lifetime.

If $$ is your thing so be it but i suggest you invest in older (vintage) cards that hold their value.

I just am tired of the regular jersey cards. I would rather they produce less packs and increase the price and know I'm at least going to get a patch or auto out of a pack then a sergea ibaka jersey.

Less product/higher prices with better medium end cards.

If you collect for love or money (your in the wrong area if you are trying to make a living off this), then you still never wanna see a sergi ibaka jersey card LOl am I right!

keep that crap for topps and ud. That should not even be in a checklist for a high end product.

That's what I'm saying, we the customer have let them get away with putting ibaka in high end products. That's on us, not them.

Why would they not put crap cards in a high end product if they get away with it year after year.

Give me crap cards once, shame on you, give me crap cards twice, shame on me.

well here it is not everybody only collects the star players for every team.
They want all the players for that team therefore they put the player like sergi ibaka so that they can have true collectors coming back and not only going to topps or upperdeck to get the cards of those players.
If they were just trying to make only 1 person happy then they wouldn't make it in this business and there would be nothing but crap companies out there, so if u dont like the product don't buy and u wont have to overpay for it.
So don't knock a company for tryn to make there product appealin for all cards collectors and sports Enthusiasts and tryn to bring in more kids to collecting instead of it just for adults because they have the money for it.
So just in closing here for yah the cards r there if u wanna buy them i know i will and will continue to buy and if i get screwed well it wont be the first time thats ever happened hell have u ever joined a break.
Hell back in the day all we had was topps and fleer so this is GREAT that stuff like this hits the shelf.
