Yakupov has REALLY been struggling in EDM. It's no secret that his value has plummeted and the Oilers are struggling on the back end. Boychuk is a reliable, Stanley Cup winning defenseman that can help shore them up defensively. Boston does this because of a surplus of capable defensemen (Mezsaros, Miller, Krug) so Boychuk becomes expendable. I think if Yakupov goes to a team where you are held accountable defensively and yet gets to play on a line with two creative Euro players (Soderberg, Eriksson) he will learn the two way game and still be able to use that Russian scoring flare he loves to demonstrate.
