Here's my three. Whatever happened to these guys?
1. The Patch Guy. He bought Patches from the Boy Scouts, The California Highway Patrol, New York Police Department...and he started making patch cards out of regular Upper Deck, Topps, and Donruss cards. At the time, patch cards were paying a premium because of the grab for game used. Funny how you would see a Derek Jeter NYPD Patch card.
2. The 1/1 Guy. This guy had a stamp that said 1/1. And at the time 1/1's were the next big thing. He 1/1 every card he had. A big hobby store might be lucky to come across 20 of these, in their possession at one time. This guy had them in the hundreds. As a matter of fact, this guy could of had the whole 2003 Topps Total Set #d 1/1. And he would sell it on eBay. Buyers were so oblivious to the fact that he had 50 auctions going on at one time for 1/1's and he had over 500 feedbacks for 1/1 cards. And 1/1's were as hard as getting a SP Legendardy Cuts Auto out of a case. (Which is usually 2-3 per case)
3. The ScoreBoard guy. Somehow this person got ahold of a ScoreBoard press and made tons of fake ScoreBoard Autos that were pretty close to the actual thing. Except, he had WAY TOO MANY Nolan Ryan Autos (25+), Derek Jeter Autos (Est. @ 50+) and Shaq Autos (100's). What gave him away was there was 2 guys always selling these. 1 was from the Phillipines and the other was from Switzerland. Both countries have bad business laws. Most buyers were unaware and bid the ying yang for these worthless autos. Most buyers were reluctant to check their feedbacks either as they would of seen all these same autos getting pumped out with ScoreBoard stamps.
