first year guy... seems to be a good player... but one year does not make you a GREAT player. We will see how he does over the next few years.

That's crazy. Just an SP base rookie...I know he was the #1 overall pick last year but the dude hasn't even played one minute in an actual NBA game yet. Could be the next Greg Oden for all anybody knows. That's just nuts.

People are buying the potential. I think he will play this season and do just fine. His original injury was a foot fracture. A small one. If there's any Sixer I'd probably not invest in card wise, it's Joel Embiid. His injury history and type of injuries are way scarier.

I agree with you...it's a huge gamble. I personally don't buy the "flavor of the month" cards because of the price. 9 times out of 10 you will lose money on them. I'd rather wait for the market to stabilize and then buy.

It's always a smart investment to purchase the card of a young soon-to-be-superstar. Even on a team as unlucky and flawed as the Sixers.
