'52 Mantles Stolen at the 2013 National Sports Collectors Convention

While the theft issue may not have been as big as some other years, there were still some significant items stolen at this year’s National Sports Collectors Convention in Chicago. Perhaps the most expensive card which walked away was a 1952 Topps Mantle in a PSA4 holder...

Now, I have to ask... a 1952 Topps Mantle, in a PSA4 Holder, walked away? Are you saying this card was NOT in a show case? It was just laying on a table for anyone to walk up and slip into their pocket without anyone seeing?

Here's some food for thought: maybe a vendor was thinking "this is easy insurance money, no harm in filing a missing card claim".

Or, he could be like me and not see the sucker in his piles of cards. I gave camaropat a heart-attack when I over-looked one card he sent...and that was in a small pile of cards lol
