4/21 Final Three-Round Mock

DNoz29

Bench Warmer
Well, here it is. It isn't going to please everyone, but I rarely ever do. :p

Here's hoping Cleveland still wants to trade up!

Round 1

1. St. Louis - QB Sam Bradford*, Oklahoma
- 99.9 percent he dawns a Ram jersey.
2. Detroit - DT Ndamukong Suh, Nebraska
- Detroit is the benefactor of the Rams' piss-poor decision.
3. Tampa Bay - DT Gerald McCoy*, Oklahoma
- Tampa has a premiere DT fall into its lap.
4. Washington - OT Trent Williams*, Oklahoma
- He flew up the boards. Fits better in the zone-blocking scheme than Okung.
5. Kansas City - OT Russell Okung, Oklahoma St.
- KC gets protection for Cassel. Albert kicks to LG and Waters goes to center.
6. Seattle - QB Jimmy Clausen*, Notre Dame
- Pete Carroll needs to make a big splash and Clausen is about the biggest splash he could make.
7. Cleveland - S Eric Berry*, Tennessee
- Berry might be the second-best player in this draft and Cleveland sends a thank you card to KC and Seattle.
8. Oakland - ILB Rolando McClain*, Alabama
- No one knows what the Raiders are going to do. Rumors are they're entertaining moving this pick for Roethlisberger. If they stay, McClain would be quite the pick.
9. Buffalo - RB C.J. Spiller, Clemson
- This is a bit of a shocker. It's also contingent on the Bills moving Marshawn Lynch.
10. Jacksonville - CB Joe Haden*, Florida
The Jags take this year's best corner to strengthen the defensive backfield.
11. Denver (from CHI) - WR Dez Bryant*, Oklahoma St.
- Bryant, despite his character concerns, will immediately step in to help the Bronco receiving corp.
12. Miami - DT Dan Williams, Tennessee
- The Fins could really use a nose tackle, so they take the best one in the entire draft in Williams.
13. San Francisco - OT Anthony Davis*, Rutgers
- Davis is about the best pick for the Niners hole at RT.
14. Seattle (from DEN) - OT Bryan Bulaga*, Iowa
- Bulaga is a solid fit for the zone and fills a hole for the Hawks on the left side.
15. N.Y. Giants - OG Mike Iupati, Idaho
- There's a report saying the Giants' top three are Spiller, McClain and Iupati. Since the other two are gone, the big guard is the pick.
16. Tennessee - DE Jason Pierre-Paul*, South Florida
- Pierre-Paul is the second coming of Jevon Kearse, who was quite the force when he came into the league.
17. San Francisco (from CAR) - S Earl Thomas*, Texas
- Thomas fills a big need for the Niners in the defensive backfield.
18. Pittsburgh - OL Maurkice Pouncey*, Florida
The Steelers grab their center of the future in Pouncey. Depending on how things play out with Roethlisberger, they could be tempted to take Tebow at this pick.
19. Atlanta - DE Derrick Morgan*, Georgia Tech
- Once a top-8 lock, Morgan falls all the way down here, but not because he can't perform. It's all about need and schemes.
20. Houston - CB Kyle Wilson*, Boise St.
- Wilson had a great off-season and flew up the boards. He'll replace the recently departed Dunta Robinson.
21. Cincinnati - TE Jermaine Gresham, Oklahoma
- Carson Palmer applauds this pick.
22. New England - DE/DT Jared Odrick, Penn St.
- The Pats hope Odrick is Richard Seymour, Jr., whom they sorely missed last season.
23. Green Bay - DE/OLB Sergio Kindle, Texas
- The transition to the 3-4 was a rousing success. Why not add to it with the best rush LB in this class?
24. Philadelphia - CB Devin McCourty, Rutgers
- With the trade of Sheldon Brown, the Eagles could sure use a corner.
25. Baltimore - DE/OLB Jerry Hughes, TCU
- Hughes is only a little behind Kindle for the best 3-4 LB in this class. The Ravens will not be disappointed.
26. Arizona - QB Colt McCoy, Texas
- The third QB in the first round. The Cards aren't confident in Leinart or Anderson and hope they can hit on McCoy.
27. Dallas - OT Charles Brown, USC
- Adams' departure leaves a big hole on Tony Romo's blindside.
28. San Diego - RB Ryan Mathews*, Fresno St.
- This one is a no-brainer. The Chargers need a big running back who can carry the ball 20+ times a game.
29. N.Y. Jets - DE/OLB Brandon Graham, Michigan
- Graham is unique in that he can play 3-4 OLB or 4-3 DE. The Jets see him as the former and a way to make up for busting on Vernon Gholston.
30. Minnesota - QB Tim Tebow, Florida
- Who knows when Favre will retire. While I don't think he's worth this pick, the Vikes see it dfferently.
31. Indianapolis - DE Everson Griffen*, USC
- Freeney is getting up there and Mathis is undersized (but good). Griffen will be able to learn from one of the league's best DE-duos.
32. New Orleans - OLB Sean Weatherspoon, Missouri
- Weatherspoon is one of the most underrated players in this draft. The Super Bowl Champs will gladly take him in this spot.

Round 2

33. St. Louis - DT Brian Price*, UCLA
34. Detroit - RB Jahvid Best*, California
35. Tampa Bay - S Nate Allen, South Florida
36. Kansas City - WR Demaryius Thomas*, Georgia Tech
37. Philadelphia (from WAS) - DE Carlos Dunlap*, Florida
38. Cleveland - CB Kareem Jackson*, Alabama
39. Oakland - OT Bruce Campbell*, Maryland
40. San Diego (from SEA) - DT Terrence Cody, Alabama
41. Buffalo - OT Roger Saffold, Indiana
42. Tampa Bay (from CHI) - WR Arrelious Benn*, Illinois
43. Denver (from MIA) - S Taylor Mays, USC
44. New England (from JAX) - CB/S Chris Cook, Virginia
45. Denver - TE Rob Gronkowski*, Arizona
46. N.Y. Giants - DE Corey Wootton, Northwestern
47. New England (from TEN) - CB Patrick Robinson, Florida St.
48. Carolina - WR Golden Tate*, Notre Dame
- This guy really reminds me of Steve Smith. What better team to take him?
49. San Francisco - DE/OLB Ricky Sapp, Clemson
50. Kansas City (from ATL) - DT Linval Joseph, East Carolina
51. Houston - RB Jonathan Dwyer*, Georgia Tech
52. Pittsburgh - CB Akwasi Owusu-Ansah, Indiana (PA)
53. New England - WR Eric Decker, Minnesota
54. Cincinnati - S Morgan Burnett*, Georgia Tech
55. Philadelphia - S Chad Jones*, LSU
56. Green Bay - OT/OG Vladimir Ducasse, Massachusetts
57. Baltimore - DE/DT Tyson Alualu, California
58. Arizona - DE/OLB Jason Worilds*, Virginia Tech
59. Dallas - OG Jon Asamoah, Illinois
60. Seattle (from SD) - S Reshad Jones*, Georgia
61. N.Y. Jets - DE/DT Alex Carrington, Arkansas St.
62. Minnesota - DT Lamarr Houston, Texas
63. Indianapolis - OLB Daryl Washington, TCU
64. New Orleans - DE Jermaine Cunningham, Floirda

Round 3

65. St. Louis - RB/WR Dexter McCluster, Ole Miss
66. Detroit - OT Jared Veldheer, Hillsdale
67. Tampa Bay - OT Tony Washington, Abilene Christian
68. Kansas City - WR Damian Williams*, USC
69. Oakland - OLB Navorro Bowman*, Penn St.
70. Philadelphia (from SEA) - RB Montario Hardesty, Tennessee
71. Cleveland - TE Aaron Hernandez*, Florida
72. Buffalo - QB John Skelton, Fordham
73. Miami - DE/OLB Koa Misi, Utah
74. Jacksonville - WR Brandon LaFell, LSU
75. Chicago - S Major Wright*, Florida
- Free safety has been an area of concern for the Bears, so they fill it with Wright.
76. N.Y. Giants - RB Toby Gerhart*, Stanford
77. Tennessee - CB Brandon Ghee, Wake Forest
78. Carolina - DT Geno Atkins, Georgia
79. San Francisco - S Larry Asante, Nebraska
80. Denver - ILB Sean Lee, Penn St.
81. Houston - DT Torrell Troup, Central Florida
82. Pittsburgh - CB Javier Arenas, Alabama
83. Atlanta - OLB A.J. Edds, Iowa
84. Cincinnati - WR Marshawn Gilyard, Cincinnati
85. Cleveland (from OAK via NE) - DE/OLB Eric Norwood, South Carolina
86. Green Bay - RB James Starks, Buffalo
87. Philadelphia - OG Mike Johnson, Alabama
88. Arizona (from BAL) - WR Carlton Mitchell, South Florida
89. Arizona - DE/OLB Brandon Lang, Troy
90. Dallas - WR Jordan Shipley, Texas
91. San Diego - CB Amari Spievey*, Iowa
92. Cleveland (from NYJ) - DT/DE Arthur Jones, Syracuse
93. Minnesota - RB Ben Tate, Auburn
94. Indianapolis - OLB Dekoda Watson, Florida St.
95. New Orleans - TE Dorin Dickerson, Pittsburgh
96. Cincinnati (comp) - OG John Jerry, Ole Miss
97. Tennessee (comp) - QB Jarrett Brown, West Virginia
98. Atlanta (comp) - C J.D. Walton, Baylor

Important things first:

49ers draft: Hits all need positions. Probably too much safety help, lol. But anything to cut Mark Roman, so I'm all for it.

Gronkowski to Denver works for me. I've gotten my hopes up he goes in the 1st now, so I'm a bit let down by this. :lollol:

Other stuff:

-Rams hit QB, DT, and a swing RB/WR. I think they'd take Damian Williams over McCluster at this point, and gamble on a power back like Blount a round or two later.

-Four QB first round. Have heard this rumored, and the needs fit (with the Vikes getting a CB in Sheppard, and missing on McCourty no need to reach elsewhere)

-Surprising 1st round destinations (to some extent): Spiller to Buffalo, McCoy to Arizona, Haden to Jax, Iupati to NYG, Griffen to Indy

Will write some more in a few, don't want to get timed out.

-Denver gets some firepower out of this draft. Stout group they picked up. McDaniels will be as arrogant as ever. Well, he could draft 5 punt return guys and still be that way.

-Staying in the AFC West, KC really gets big at WR. Adding Thomas and Williams to Bowe and Chambers. And a more true NT prospect in Joseph. Not a bad haul for a team that wants to get tougher on the D-line, and throw more effectively.

-Gilyard doesn't have to leave town, that rocks. Cincy gets good value from where they were drafting at.

-Cleveland pulled a Minnesota at #85 ;) Give them a developmental QB or something.

-If I were running Houston's board, I would have given them Lamar Houston in the 2nd, and then have them dig for a RB or more DB help in the 3rd. Just my 2 cents there.

-I'm not sure what kind of RB Philly wants, looking at what they did in this draft. They have a speed/hands guy in McCoy, a one-cut power style guy in Bell, Weaver as their FB/swing pass guy. Probably another big body RB for the long haul. They missed on that experiment with Hunt a while back.

-Tampa has a real nice draft. Top tier talents each round, with some of my favorite prospects in Benn and Allen.

Overall, real strong work. :salut: :salut:

I agree on the Tebow pick, because the Vikes just like to generate buzz.

I had, on another board, the Denver pick in a mock about 3 weeks ago. I made that same pick, pre-Marshall trade :D

And another solid job, Dustin
