2006 Topps great deal box 1 Disappointin. Update package came in 4-2-2022

Well the great Deal box sucked. About as bad as a box can get.

-No verlander RC
-1 expired redemption -
-Pull a Mickey Mantle chrome. The front flawless and the back HAS A CREASE!!! ***!!!!

Box 2 not much better…. Another expired redemption… decent rookies still no verlander.


Here’s what Topps sent me… they could do anything about the mantle so they sent it back

Nice care package on the expired redemption though. 4 autos and 4 packs of cards.

Crazy thing is I purchased this product a lot back when it came out and still always pick up a box when I see a good deal. I have always received at least 1 Verlander. So to have 0 in 2 boxes was a disappointment.

This is also this first time getting redemptions so to have 2 was pretty rough.

I couldn’t imagine how someone would of felt paying the going rate of $150.

Topps replied and said send in the 2 redemption and the mantle and they’ll send a care package…. Fingers crossed the Mantle is replaced with a comparable Mantle.

Me too! Especially seeing it’s a $60-$70 mantle ungraded and a $250-$300 @a psa 9.

I was hesitant about sending but the crease does me no good

Pulling the big names in this product were always hard.
I think we hit a big name once, and went through 6 boxes at the shop I worked at when I was 16 when this released.
Never had the issues with creased chromes, but the corners on these were always rough. We did get a red ink of Anibal when we opened ours. Sold it when he threw the no hitter, so it was the best time possible.

Rough break on the redemptions too... I don't think there were that many to begin with.
